HOW TO GET AROUND IN TOKYO

Tokyo has one of the best transportation systems in the world:

• Extremely punctual subways and trains

• IC cards (Suica / Pasmo)

• Very walkable city

WHEN TO GO TO TOKYO

Useful tips

Spring (March – May)
Mild and pleasant climate, cherry blossom between late March and early April. Suggestive period, but also crowded.

Summer (June – September)
Hot and very humid, rains between June and early July and possible typhoons between August and September. Less recommended for visiting the city.

Autumn (October – November)
Ideal temperatures, dry air and autumn foliage. One of the best times to visit Tokyo, with fewer crowds.

Winter (December – February)
Cold but dry climate, with often sunny days. Good period to visit the city without too many tourists.

GateFree Tip:
The best months to visit Tokyo are April, May, October and November, followed by March and December.

BOOK THE ATTRACTIONS

Avoid long waits at the ticket offices and secure your seat in advance

COMING SOON TO POINTS OF INTEREST

Don't assume that there will be a table at the restaurant you want to go to; in some places, the lines could last for hours

CHECK THE QUEUE AT THE RESTAURANT

Especially in high season, some destinations may be overcrowded, try to arrive early
