WHEN TO GO TO PALERMO

Useful tips

Palermo can be visited all year round, but the best times are spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October): pleasant weather, ideal days for walking, and less heat compared to summer.

Summer can be very hot and muggy, with many locals on vacation in August, but it is the ideal time to enjoy the sea

Winter is mild, but perfect for a relaxing weekend among museums, shopping, and art

GateFree tip:
if you want to fully enjoy what the city has to offer, plan your visit from April onwards with the beautiful days; in the height of summer, we instead recommend visiting more seaside Sicilian cities.

DEDICATE AT LEAST 3 DAYS TO THE CITY

The city offers an innumerable number of places of interest, including historic neighborhoods, museums, and churches

TRAFFIC CAN BE HEAVY

If you decide to rent a car, keep in mind that traffic in Palermo can be very heavy, so plan your travel and parking times carefully, as parking is not always easy
