WHEN TO GO TO KYOTO
Spring (March – May)
Mild climate and cherry blossom (sakura), especially between late March and early April. It is one of the most beautiful periods, but also among the most crowded.
Summer (June – September)
Hot and very humid, with frequent rain in June. Less recommended for visiting temples and historic districts, although there are still traditional festivals.
Autumn (October – November)
Ideal temperatures and spectacular autumn colors. It is one of the best times to visit Kyoto, perfect for strolling among temples and gardens.
Winter (December – February)
Cold but generally dry, with few tourists. Excellent period to visit Kyoto in peace and admire snow-covered temples.
